Troon Pétanque Club

Isle of Pin Road, Troon KA10 7ER

Troon Pétanque Club was formed in 1989 with the first game of ‘Les Boules’ played in Troon on    2nd January of that year.  The Club now has its home at Fullarton Woods and is an affiliated member of the Scottish Pétanque Association.  Competitions are held throughout the year with league matches being held each Wednesday evening during the summer.  Some club members meet each Friday and Sunday morning for informal play (weather permitting) and new members are always encouraged to join in the fun.

Bensley Freight Pairs

Congratulations to Donnie MacIntyre and Istvan Poka in winning the Bensley Freight Trophies.  Eight teams competed in closely fought games with the top three teams all having the same number of wins.  Thanks to Bensley Freight for providing the trophies and to Jimmy Johnstone in presenting the prizes of wine.  Only photos of the winners were taken on such a wild day.  To view the full result and an enlargement of these handsome fellows on the left, click here.

Well Done

Congratulations to Jimmy, Kevin and Paul in playing their part in securing the Celtic Challenge Trophy for Scotland.  Seven wins out of twelve games was a great result for a first International.  There will surely be many more to come.
